URGENT –  Diabetes Type 1 – BME Respondents

The purpose of the research is to aid Diabetes UK, in understanding how the charity can support people living with Type 1 diabetes to successfully advocate for access to diabetes technology (CGMs and pumps) from their local healthcare system.  ALL BY ZOOM.

 The focus of the research will be to understand in greater detail the barriers and difficulties people might have experienced around access, while also exploring what form of support or information could best assist people in their interactions with healthcare systems to successfully access the technology.

 So, in short, we are looking for people who either have a continuous glucose monitor or insulin pump, who have struggled to obtain them or are still struggling to get them. We are particularly looking for people from BME backgrounds, and adults who are not working, or in Blue collar job roles, NOT MANAGEMENT roles.

• Interviews are from now to 20th Dec
• A one-to-one interview that will last 60 minutes, at a time to suit you, and for taking part you will receive £50 BY ZOOM
• A small discussion group that will last for 90 minutes, over the next week or so, and for taking part you will receive £65.
