| We have been asked by the Institute for Social and Economic Research (ISER) at the University of Essex to carry out research with midwives and new mothers, exploring their views about how best researchers can gather information about pregnancy and birth. This will help inform the design of a new study on this topic.
The research would involve taking part in a focus group. We will not be collecting any personal information about you as part of the research, we just want to hear your views about how best to gather that information from others. Looking for 27 females aged 18+ to take part in the following discussion groups;
Group 5 – Midwives – Tuesday 21st May – 6.45pm
Incentive for this group is £100. Group 3 – Experienced New Mum – Wednesday 22nd May – 6.15pm
Incentive for this group is £50. Group 2 – First Time New Mum – Thursday 23rd may – 6.15pm
Incentive for this group is £50. Incentives paid by PayPal transfer or by PERKS online vouchers (your choice) up to 3 working days after completion of the project. Note: For the mums’ groups, there will be three rooms available – one for the focus group and another next door for supporting partners to come and look after baby if mum is not able to be away from baby for too long. The third near by room is available for changing/feeding. The client would prefer that mums don’t bring babies to the focus group. However, these facilities are provided to help mum decide to take part in the research. The rooms are on the third floor but are lift and buggy accessible.
