We have been asked to carry out research on behalf of DEFRA, the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs. They have asked us to find out about the different ways people do their household food shopping.
This project is part of an evaluation of the EU Food Information for Consumers Regulation. We will be conducting accompanied shops with consumers and a follow-up discussion about their shop.
The accompanied shop will last 15 minutes to 1 hour and will be followed by a 30 minute follow-up discussion in the supermarket cafe or at home.
IN STORE: We would like to accompany you as you do your shop in-store. Our researcher will stay with you throughout the shop as you go around the store and would then like to spend 30 minutes with you afterwards (at a nearby cafe/agreed venue) to talk a little a bit about how you approached your shop. We would like this to take place at the store where you usually shop at and at a time you usually do the shop.
We’ll also speak to people that do their main shop online. These sessions will take place in their own home.
ONLINE IN-HOME: We would like to sit in as you do your online in-home shop. Our researcher will observe you as you go about your on-line shop and would then like to spend 30 minutes with you afterwards to talk a little a bit about how you approached your shop.
The research will be conducted on Friday 23rd February between 9.00am and 6.00pm
Incentive is £50 in PERKS vouchers or via PayPal.
Looking for 6 people – males and females aged 18+, at least jointly responsible for the household shop – to take part in this research.
