WE CANNOT USE ANYONE WHO HAS DONE A BRAIN IMAGING STUDY BEFORE. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE APPLYING
COVID 19 – INSTRUCTIONS The study will last 1.5 hours, you will wear a small cap to measure brain activity while you view TV Content. The caps are completely safe and do not affect the wearer. Study content will be viewed through a visor (similar to virtual reality goggles), which will generate a mild flickering light in your peripheral vision. The visor can be worn in front of normal glasses if you wear them. To BE COVID 19 – COMPLIANT the client will now seat 4 people at the table, NOT 8 to ensure adequate 2m social distancing COVID-19 To comply with Government advice on COVID-19 procedures, you must not take part in this study if you:
– Suffer from cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, chronic kidney disease, liver disease, morbid obesity, brain or nervous system disorder – Are taking immunosuppressants – Are pregnant or you live with someone pregnant – If you develop COVID-19 one month before the study start date or anyone who lives with you develops COVID-19 one month before the study start please get in touch and inform the recruiter if this occurs) because you must not take part in this study. – Develop any COVID-19 symptoms (fever, continuous cough, loss or change of taste or smell)
We would like to reassure you that all necessary precautions are being taken at the venue ie. equipment cleaning, cleaning of seats, worktops The client has a MASTER database of ALL previous participants, going back years. If you’ve done ANY Brain Imaging research in the past – even though a different recruiter – please don’t apply for this as it only wastes everyone’s time… you won’t be accepted. This study requires that we have access to your scalp. If you wear a wig, hairpiece or any other head covering this may be difficult and would prevent you from being included in the study. Please do not apply if you have had a brain injury or had any brain surgery.
_________________________________ This will require 90 mins of your time. FORMAT OF THE RESEARCH – During the session, you will be asked to carry out a range of different tasks while wearing a small cap that measures brain activity or ‘brain waves’. The caps do not generate any electricity, are completely safe and do not affect the wearer. During the session, you will view the tasks through a set of glasses (similar to virtual reality goggles). You will also see a flickering white light generated by the glasses at the edges of your vision; the flickering light will be present during the period you are reading. If you wear glasses, this is not a problem as the ‘goggles’ can be worn over the top of or in front of your glasses. AGAIN, WE CANNOT USE ANYONE WHO HAS DONE A BRAIN IMAGING STUDY BEFORE. However… it’s OK if you’ve done other research before and friends and family can take part in the same sessions, provided you all fit the criteria. Session times are as follows; Monday 17th – 6:00pm The incentive is £40 for the 90 mins session. PAID BY BACS All email responses are checked.You will only be contacted if the answers you’ve provided meet the criteria for this project and we have spaces left on the group – if you do not receive a response then you are not required to participate on this occasion.
