We are looking for 20 males and females age 18 to 65 across 4 groups about smartphones. This will be held in the London Bridge area
During the session you will wear a small cap that measures brain activity or ‘brain waves’. The caps do not generate any electricity, are completely safe and have no effect on the wearer. You will first view about 30 minutes of a television programme. There will then be a few minutes break and after that we will be asking you to watch television again as well as use computers and iPads (which will be provided).
During the session, you will view the TV programme through a set of glasses (similar to virtual reality goggles). While viewing the programme, you will also see a flickering white light on either side of the screen that is generated by the glasses. If you wear glasses, this is not a problem as the ‘goggles’ can be worn over the top of or in front of your glasses.
This will require 1 ½ hours of your time. The study will be in 2 parts: Part 1 will involve TV viewing and Part 2 will involve browsing online content. You will wear the headset twice during the session.
Please do not apply if you have had a brain injury or had any brain surgery.
The dates are shown in the table – incentive is £40 cash for 90 minutes.
WE CANNOT USE PEOPLE WHO HAVE DONE THIS STUDY BEFORE
However… it’s OK if you’ve done other research before.
