We are urgently looking for people who have been affected by APP Fraud – in the last 12 months must be aware of what this is:

All must be aware of APP fraud

Types of APP fraud include:

Purchase – Occurs when the customer pays in advance for goods or services that are never received. Scams usually involve the use of an online platform such as an auction website. ( i.e. Instagram or eBay)
Advance Fee – Customers pay a fee which will result in the release of a much larger payment. Customers may believe that they are paying a loan admin fee
Impersonation – Customers pay a fee which will result in the release of a much larger payment. Customers may believe that they are paying a loan admin fee
Romance – Occurs when the customer is convinced to make a payment to a person that they have met online and with whom they believe they are in a relationship
Investment – A scammer convinces an investor to move their money to a fictitious fund offering significantly higher returns than they are currently receiving. Other incidents can of investment fraud include: carbon credits, land banks and wine scams
Invoice & Mandate – In this scam, the customer attempts to make a payment to settle a legitimate obligation with a legitimate payee but the scammer manages to intervene to convince the customer to redirect the payment to the scammers’ account
Payee – The customer attempts to make a payment to settle a legitimate obligation with a legitimate payee but the scammer manages to intervene by impersonating the CEO to convince the customer to redirect the payment to the scammer’s account.

All must have been victims of APP fraud (see examples above) in the past 12 months.

All must have had money taken out of their accounts and have either gone through the process of getting this money back or, are going through it now
