| Our client would like to investigate the unmet mobility needs of households in the borough of Ealing and would like to invite residents to participate in a two-part study, to get your input on certain future concepts for urban transportation.
We are investigating the potential for a new service concept that solves for the ‘first mile’ or ‘multi car’ challenge faced by people in this borough. The service would be integrated into the wider Transport network and seek to fill the gaps where trains, buses or tubes do not fulfil the needs of the households, while providing a more convenient and cost effective solution than driving your own car. We are interested in people in shift work (such as hospital workers)… people who feel they have a forced dependency on cars (would prefer public transit if possible)… people who perceive their distance to nearest public transit is inconvenient… people who make frequent use of on-demand transportation (Ubers/Taxis/Minicabs). We are PARTICULARLY INTERESTED in people who live MORE THAN 15 minutes walk to a viable public transit option for commuting. Part 1: a 90 minute group discussion held in the Shoreditch area. Incentive for this is £150. Group A: 13 June Wednesday – 4:00pm – 5:30pm Prior to your attendance at the group session, we would like to ask you to complete a travel journal homework assignment. This assignment should take no more than 15 minutes, and we will compensate you £25 upon successful completion of the homework. 20 people will participate in Part 1. Around half will be selected to go onto Part 2. Part 2: the second study is on the same topic of transportation from 18 June to 6 July. This study will involve researchers visiting you in your home on two occasions – at times that are convenient – to learn more about your household, and joining you on certain journeys around town. In addition, you would be asked to complete travel journal activities over the course of two weeks. You will receive an additional £800 for your participation in this second study. You must be willing and available to participate in BOTH parts to be eligible to take part at all.
