| We are conducting a research project among students in Years 9 to 13 at secondary school. The project is being conducted on behalf of University College London (UCL) to find out about young people’s aspirations for Higher Education and what they already know about University life (if anything). Those who are eligible will be invited to attend a group discussion with young people of a similar age. During the course of the discussion, you will be shown materials from various Universities and asked to comment on them.
Groups are broken down as follows; Group 1 – Students Year 9 (13 to 14) Wednesday 30th – 4.00pm
Group 10 – Parents of Year 9 students Wednesday 30th – 6.30pm
Group 5 – Students Year 10/11 (14 to 16) Thursday 31st – 4.00pm
Group 15 – Parents of Year 10/11 students Thursday 31st – 6.30pm
Ideally, the people in the Parents groups will be the parents of the ones in the Students groups. However, we can accept parents whose children are of the correct age (and ethnicity) but not taking part in the Student group. Likewise, we can accept Students whose parent aren’t able to attend the Parents groups. You will only be contacted if the answers you’ve provided meet the criteria for this project and we have spaces left on the group – if you do not receive a response then you are not required to participate on this occasion. |
